Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to amend the Royal Engineering contract for additional services for $200,656.93.

ISSUE/BACKGROUND:

The Canal Street Ferry Terminal is behind schedule by approximately four months. This delay is due to agency-requested changes in the design of the barge/gangway, interruptions caused by COVID-19 and Hurricane Ida, and other issues.  As a result of these delays, the agency needs to extend the contract with Royal Engineers and Consultants, LLC (Royal) who along with its subconsultant Dupont LeCorgne Construction Consultants (DLCC) is providing construction management support.

DISCUSSION:

The services provided by Royal and DLCC include inspection, schedule reviews, estimate and validate costs related to change orders, in addition to providing advice/solutions as project conditions change.    Royal and DLCC will invoice monthly with detailed Time & Material breakdown per the hourly rates indicated.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The cost of this amendment is $200,656.93 and is based time and materials and will be charged to account number 1FERRY.1047.

NEXT STEPS:

Upon Board approval, staff will amend Royal Engineering Contract with the Canal Street Ferry Terminal Project.
