To authorize the CEO to award a contract in the amount of $111,747.18 to Courtesy Ford for the purchase of three Ford Explorers.

ISSUE/BACKGROUND:

As RTA continues to grow and expand, the agency needs to grow with it. With the addition of the physical security department and new employees, it is now necessary to procure three vehicles to be utilized in the respective department. The vehicles will assist the agency in security inspections of facilities, buildings, and video camera surveillance. One of these vehicles will also be used for the crisis intervention coordinator. Currently, the department has one security vehicle that will be retired upon receipt of the new vehicles, leaving a total of three vehicles dedicated to the department.

DISCUSSION:
RTA will use the Louisiana state contract (44000237912) to purchase the three security vehicles. The security department is dedicated to assisting the agency in its mission to provide safe service to our agency and constituents. These much-needed vehicles will assist in the agency's ability to complete this mission.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding is available through grant funding LA2021-025.1113.114211; the estimated project cost is $111,747.18 and funding of 130,614 is available.
NEXT STEPS:
When approved to proceed, the team will continue to develop this proposal following the notice of funding for the contract award.
