ISSUE/BACKGROUND:

This report provides a brief discussion of the status of the capital projects and activities that occurred during the period of December 15-January 15, 2020.

DISCUSSION:
The RTA has $33.753 million in open contracts for the capital program after issuing the $692K new contracts, $7.4K in change orders and amendments and closing $34.7K in contracts in January. The contractor continues with demolition work at the Canal Street Ferry Terminal, the redesign of the gangway to accommodate request by Ferry Operations is completed. The temporary berthing is now scheduled to open in May, now that the repair scope is finalized. The installation of security gates at the rear of the Canal Street complex is underway. The Riverfront Track replacement contractor has mobilized and begun coordination with both the RTA and the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad to execute the scope of work.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The portfolio of projects is funded from multiple funding sources, FTA Formula and Competitive Grants, along with State, City and RTA local funds.
NEXT STEPS:
Continue to progress projects until completion.
