To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to negotiate and approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the Broadmoor Improvement Association (BIA) and the Regional Transit Authority (RTA).

ISSUE/BACKGROUND:

The Broadmoor Improvement Association is a nonprofit that serves those who live, work, and play in the Broadmoor neighborhood. During the post-Katrina recovery BIA volunteers installed wooden benches at several transit stops in their neighborhood. BIA would like to replace these benches.

DISCUSSION:
The BIA would like to donate the benches and other amenities to the RTA to benefit transit riders. In exchange for this donation the RTA would commit to maintaining these amenities.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The addition of these amenities is neutral on the capital budget and minimally impact the facility maintenance budget.
NEXT STEPS:
Upon Board approval, staff will execute the MOU between the BIA and RTA.
