The RTA issued a solicitation through IFB No. 2021-002 to procure non-proprietary parts for our bus fleet.

DISCUSSION:
Both new and old, buses require parts. The RTA set out to establish contracts that would provide necessary non-proprietary bus parts that would streamline the agency's ability to obtain and ensure competitive pricing.
Utilizing a solicitation process, the RTA is seeking to establish a contract for the purchase of non-proprietary bus parts. Establishing contracts through the form of an Invitation for Bid (IFB) allows the agency to streamline the procumbent process and ensure the best pricing. There were 431 parts listed that required the vendor to provide pricing. All vendors did not supply pricing for everything, but Mohawk MFG & Supply Co and Kenworth of Louisiana provided the most acceptable pricing to RTA.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The funding is currently available through local funding. The Cost is $1,276,261 per year for a total two-year cost of $2,552,522.
NEXT STEPS:
Upon RTA Board approval, staff will assign a purchase order as needed and procure parts as needed.
