Authorize the RTA’s Chief Executive Officer to Negotiate and Execute a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the Parish of Jefferson (“PARISH”) and the Regional Transit Authority (“RTA”) to allow RTA Rider Informational Kiosk at Wilty Terminal for a total contract amount not to exceed Eighty-Three Thousand, Two Hundred and Five Dollars ($83,205.00).

On January 11, 2023, the Jefferson Parish Transit Department entered into an Agreement with Clever Devices, Ltd. to create a system that allows real-time Jefferson Parish Transit bus arrival and departure information to be displayed on kiosks at the Wilty Terminal. Subsequently, Jefferson Parish Transit approached the RTA to provide an opportunity to include the RTA’s rider information on the kiosks. Originally Jefferson Parish was in contract with Clever Devices, Ltd for an amount not to exceed $144,196.00 and has agreed to amend their contract to include the RTA rider information at an additional cost of $83,205.00. The new contract amount between Clever Devices and Jefferson Parish will be increased to $227,401.00. The Cooperative Endeavor Agreement is needed to allow the RTA to reimburse Jefferson Parrish for the additional cost incurred to include RTA rider data in the Digital Kiosk located at Wilty Terminal which is owned and operated by Jefferson Parish Transit. The following RTA fixed routes currently serve Wilty Terminal: 103, 105,114a, and 114b

DISCUSSION:
Building on the implementation of New Links which extended RTA services into Jefferson Parish and coordinating the joint implementation of our mobile application “Le Pass”, the RTA and Jefferson Parish Transit are committed to coordinating services to ease regional rider communications and improve rider convenience. This partnership on this digital kiosk is another example of the inter-parish coordination that will benefit riders in both Orleans and Jefferson Parish. Both Jefferson Parish and RTA are excited about the opportunity to offer real-time, rider information on modern, state-of-the-art equipment.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The $83,205.00 reimbursement to Jefferson Parish will be paid by the RTA from account 1560002.7150.02101.
NEXT STEPS:
Jefferson Parish will work with Clever Devices, Ltd. to install the digital kiosk at Wilty Terminal. The RTA will provide its fixed-route data to Clever to be included in the project. Jefferson Parish will invoice the RTA for the agency portion of the project ($83,205.00)
