Request Board Authorization to Award contract to Industrial and Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for the replacement of compromised lines which transport waste liquid to underground reservoirs.  The bid received per IFB 2020-031 is in the amount of $238,795.00

ISSUE/BACKGROUND:

Several drain lines which are below grade have broken and no longer drain into the waste reservoirs. The existing system will be removed.  New drainage header and branches will be fabricated and installed.

DISCUSSION:

Work will entail demolition of slab, remove and replacing various piping spools (6”, 4” and 3”). Upon plumbing repair completion, contractor shall backfill and perform compaction. Due to the everyday operations of the RTA, the contractor will only be permitted to barricade and perform repairs to a section of concrete which spans the area of two bus bays.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The project construction will be funded by 1PWAP9121060.19296A ($75,000.00) and 1284302.7570.125 ($215,000.00) for a total funding of $290,000.00. Engineering cost is being   funded by 1280002.7070.173 in the amount of $25,000.00. The current cost   committed for this project is $19,000.00 for engineering and $238,795.00 for construction for a total of $257,795 upon execution of this contract.

NEXT STEPS:

Upon Board approval, Infrastructure Department will have the Procurement Department issue a purchase order to the successful bidder and this will be their Notice to Proceed.
