AUTHORIZE the Chief Executive Officer to:
Amend Voestalpine Nortrak Inc. in the amount of $180,621.00 to pay for the cost of design changes to improve safety because of previous accommodations made to improve ADA accessibility at Double Crossover (DXO) at Carrolton and Claiborne.

ISSUE/BACKGROUND:

St. Charles streetcar line’s double crossover is located at Claiborne & Carrollton. The rail tracks are a long lead item must be manufactured for repairs and improvements made to our current streetcar system.

DISCUSSION:
To accommodate improved ADA accessibility the design now requires longer straight track sections between turn outs and crossing diamond due to the track widening and in the station area due to the shifting of DXO. RTA is now requesting that Nortrak include in this change to the contract provision of the switch ties for the widened DXO. This material is expected to arrive January 2023. The procurement to install the special track work is expected to occur March 2023. Final completion of the job is expected to occur through December 2023.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Total cost for this rail fabrication $180,621.00 and will be funded through Grant LA 900409.1073.122303.
NEXT STEPS:
Upon Board approval, staff will amend Voestalpine Nortrak Inc. contract to include the revised work in their contract.
